Arrowheads point to mural cells associated with the endothelium. Arrows point to co-expression of two smooth muscle cell markers. B) acta2:EGFPexpressing smooth muscle cells are closely associated with kdrl:mCherry expressing endothelial cells along large vessels of the brain. C) foxc1b:EGFP and acta2:mCherry are partially co-expressed in smooth muscle cells on brain vessels. Scale bars represent 50 μm.
