STATEMENT OF RESEARCH INTERESTS
We are studying the developmental roles of oncogenes and tumor suppressors in zebrafish.
Our research focuses on the regulation of tissue homeostasis by extrinsic factors (energy supply) and intrinsic mechanisms (epigenetic regulation of differentiation) using zebrafish as our central experimental model.
We are following two main lines of research:
1) Energy homeostasis in development and disease, employing mainly our lkb1 model of deregulated metabolism.
2) Epigenetic regulation of tissue homeostasis, employing zebrafish mutanted in ring1b, a Polycomb gene.
