(CF) The protamine-treated embryos showed stalling of ISVs (D) and mispatterned CVP (F) compared with completed growth of ISV (arrowheads in C) and the sprouting or loop structure of CVP (E) in wild-type embryos at 30 hpf. (E) The quantification of complete ISVs in embryos treated with 0.01 mg/ml protamine (18 ± 7%, n = 10) and untreated controls (92 ± 3%, n = 10).
