Gonads from wild-type (A, C, E) and ziwi(fh219/221) transheterozygous fish (B,D,F) stained for vasa RNA to identify germ cells. 15 dpf (A,B), 20 dpf (C,D) and 30 dpf (E,F). In D, gonad arms are outlined and arrow points to a small patch of vasa positive cells. Arrows in F point to gonad arms. sb= swim bladder.
