RT-PCR for wnt9a transcript in somite-stage time points. Transcripts of wnt9a are detectable via RT-PCR from as early as 5-somite stage. However, by whole mount RNA in situ, the first tissue-restricted expression of wnt9a is not apparent until 36 hpf.
