Biography and Research Interest
I am a PhD student in the Neural Circuit Development and Regeneration research group (KU Leuven, Belgium). My research focuses on characterizing bioenergetics changes in regenerating zebrafish retina ganglion cells at single neuron level. After simultaneously obtaining two bachelor's degrees in Engineering Technology from KU Leuven and Tongji University in 2020, I spent six months at the University of Padua as part of the Erasmus exchange program. I obtained my master's degree in Biochemical Engineering Technology from KU Leuven and was granted the KVCV Award by the Royal Flemish Chemical Society in 2021. After a three-month internship at the Life Science department at imec, KU Leuven, I started my PhD in October 2021 and am very motivated to unravel the intraneuronal bioenergetics that underlie injury-induced axonal regeneration.
