We study the molecular basis for inherited bone marrow failure disorders (especially severe congenital neutropenia and Shwachman-Diamond syndrome) and the mechanisms by which they evolve into myeloid neoplasia. One of us also cares for patients with these disorders. We make extensive use of zebrafish strains, CRISPR’ed mammalian cell lines, and patient-derived tissues.
