Name: short double cone cell
Synonyms: green-sensitive cone, unequal double cone cell
Definition: Retinal cone cell with a shorter outer segment that form pairs with the long double cone cell as part of the retinal cone mosaic pattern. The short double cone cell is positioned immediately adjacent to the short single cone cell and is sensitive to green light. The double cone cells have membrane projections at the level of the lobed nucleus.

Name: cone photoreceptor disc membrane
Synonyms:
Definition: Stack of disc membranes located inside a cone photoreceptor outer segment, and containing densely packed molecules of opsin photoreceptor proteins that traverse the lipid bilayer. Cone disc membranes arise as evaginations of the ciliary membrane during the development of the cone outer segment and remain contiguous with the ciliary membrane.
