A constitutively active (non-degradable) form of Xenopus beta-catenin with C-terminal myc tags was inserted into a 8X multimerized heat shock element promoter (Bajoghli et al., 2004, Dev. Biol. 271, pp. 416-430) that drives expression of the beta-catenin-myc and also EGFP. This was all flanked by Tol2 sites.
