Fig. 6 puma promotes xanthophore development. (A–C) Consecutive images from the flank of wild-type metamorphosing larva, showing progressive increase in xanthophore density within the developing interstripe region. (D–F) Consecutive images from the flank of a puma mutant larva showing that xanthophore densities increase with time, but are reduced compared with wild-type larvae at corresponding stages.
