Acts upstream of or within several processes, including negative regulation of adenylate cyclase-activating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway; protein localization to cell surface; and regulation of growth. Located in Golgi apparatus; endoplasmic reticulum; and plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including adipose tissue; diencephalon; heart; liver; and pleuroperitoneal region. Orthologous to human MRAP2 (melanocortin 2 receptor accessory protein 2).
