Definition:	Hemal prezygapophyses are paired, anteromedially directed processes arising from the bases of hemal arches, ligamentously joined to the hemal postzygapophyses of the preceding vertebra. Posterior caudal vertebrae close to the caudal fin lack hemal prezygopophyses.
