Term Name: lymphocyte antigen 75
Synonyms: C-type lectin domain family 13 member B, CD205, CLEC13B, DEC-205, gp200-MR6, ly-75, LY75
Definition: A C-type lectin with multiple lectin domains that is a translation product of the human LY75 gene or a 1:1 ortholog thereof. It consists of 12 extracellular domains (an N-terminal cysteine-rich domain, a fibronectin type II domain and 10 C-type carbohydrate recognition domains), a transmembrane region and a small cytoplasmic C terminus containing a single Tyr residue, but no obvious kinase domain. Acts as an endocytic receptor to direct captured antigens from the extracellular space to a specialized antigen-processing compartment.
