The expression pattern of FoxD7 transcripts during the developmental stages of zebrafish embryos. Embryos at different stages, as indicated, were collected and hybridized with antisense and sense probe against FoxD7 mRNA using whole-mount in situ hybridization. Panels A, C, E and G were lateral views; panels B, D, F and H were dorsal view; Panels I, J, L, M, O, P, R and S were lateral view and anterior of embryos to the left, while panels K, N, Q and T were dorsal view and anterior of embryo to the top. At 12 hpf, FoxD7 transcripts were expressed in whole embryo. The maternal expression of FoxD7 transcripts was initially apparent at the 1-cell, 2-cell, 4-cell and 8-cell stages. At 24–72 hpf, FoxD7 transcripts were expressed in midbrain (m), retina (r), lens (le), pharyngeal arch region (pa) and spinal cord (sc). At 48–72-hpf, FoxD7 transcripts were expressed in the retina (r), lens (le), forebrain (fm), midbrain (m), hindbrain (h), developing fins (f) and branchial arches (ba). At 72 hpf, FoxD7 transcripts were expressed in ventricular zone (VZ), including ventral zone of the periventricular hypothalamus (Hv) and ventral habenular nucleus (HaV). Panels A′-C′, E′, G′, I′, J′, L′, O′ and R′ were patterns corresponding to panels A–C, E, G, I, J, L, O and R but hybridized with sense probes.
